Emma McDonald is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in trade, investment, and project management, currently serving as the Senior Trade and Investment Commissioner for Vietnam and Cambodia at the Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade) since December 2013. Throughout a distinguished career, Emma has held various leadership roles within Austrade, including acting as General Manager of Investment and heading investment teams across multiple regions, notably Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia. Prior experience includes managerial positions within the Department of Resources, Energy and Tourism, the Department of Families, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs, and the Department of Finance and Deregulation, where strategic oversight and regulatory reform were key responsibilities. Emma's educational background features a Bachelor's and Graduate Diploma in Planning and Design from the University of Melbourne, along with further education from the University of Cambridge and the China Executive Leadership Academy Pudong.
