Paul Burfield

Paul Burfield is an experienced trade and investment professional currently serving as Minister-Counsellor (Commercial) and Senior Trade & Investment Commissioner at the Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade) since March 2022. In this role, Paul leads initiatives across the Defense, Space, and Infrastructure sectors in North America, focusing on collaborations to enhance commercial outcomes related to AUKUS, promoting Australia's investment potential in the Space economy, and supporting the transition to Net Zero through significant infrastructure investments. Prior to this, Paul held multiple senior roles at Enterprise Ireland from 2003 to 2022, including SVP and Director, where Paul was instrumental in managing large investment portfolios and driving the growth of Irish technology firms. Paul's earlier career includes marketing management at Avery Dennison and co-founding Albox Australia. Paul holds a Bachelor of Business Administration with a major in Marketing from the University of South Australia and a Bachelor's degree in Accounting and Finance from the University of Tasmania, along with a Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
