Brooke Conroy

Brooke Conroy is a UAV Educator at Surf Life Saving NSW since October 2021, specializing in delivering SheMaps certified programs that teach drone operation to primary and secondary students. Brooke has experience as a UAV Pilot with the Australian UAV Service, focusing on shark spotting and flood response. Additionally, Brooke serves as a Research Assistant at the University of Wollongong, contributing to soil sediment laboratory analyses, estuary modeling and mapping, and vegetation mapping. Currently a PhD candidate, Brooke's research centers on measuring, mapping, and modeling mangrove sustainability along the Australian coast. Previous positions include roles at the ARC Centre of Excellence for Climate Extremes, Douglas Partners Pty Ltd, and the Australian Department of Agriculture, Water and the Environment. Brooke holds an International Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Physical Geography and Environmental Geosciences and an International Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science from the University of Wollongong and the University of Colorado Boulder, respectively.
