Tanya Cooper

Tanya Cooper is a seasoned clinical mental health educator and psychologist with extensive experience in teaching and training within the fields of psychology, dietetics, nutrition, and addiction. Currently serving as a Clinical Mental Health Educator at Australian Unity and a Lecturer at La Trobe University since 2018, Tanya specializes in professional communication skills, motivational interviewing, and counselling techniques. With a background that includes roles as a Motivational Interviewing Trainer and Psychology & AOD Consultant in private practice, Tanya has educated both undergraduate and postgraduate students on drug and alcohol counselling. Previous positions include manager of the Eastern Drug and Alcohol Service and clinical roles in various health services and private practice. Tanya holds a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology from Swinburne University of Technology and a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Deakin University. In addition to professional endeavors, Tanya was a member of the Victorian and Australian Karate teams from 1992 to 2010.
