Karl Gruen

Karl Gruen has extensive experience in standardization and management roles, currently serving as the Deputy Managing Director and Director of Standardization at Austrian Standards since September 1994. Additionally, Karl is a member of the StandICT.eu External Advisory Group, contributing to efforts in ICT standardization since October 2020. Previously, Karl held the position of Chairman of CEN/Technical Board/Technical Committees Management Group from January 2014 to December 2019. Karl's academic background includes a doctorate in physics from Technische Universität Wien, where Karl studied from 1984 to 1994, and a degree in mechanical engineering from HTL Argentinierstraße, completed in 1984. Before pursuing a career in standardization, Karl worked as a Wissenschaftlicher Assistent at Technische Universität Wien from September 1990 to June 1994.
