Benjamin York has worked in the software engineering field since 2007. Benjamin began their career at McKendree University as a Clark 206 Lab Worker, where they supervised the university's CSI computer lab and built and troubleshooted computers. Benjamin then moved to the IT Help Desk, where they resolved calls from students and staff on basic technology difficulties. In 2010, they were contracted out to SRA International, Inc. by Complete Professional Services, LLC. (CPS) as a Tier 3 support on a Department of Defense web application and some of its supporting applications.
In 2013, they began working at Red Lion Controls as a Software Developer, developing software with a JavaScript/Node.js backend and a web-based frontend. In 2015, they joined sensorFact Services, Inc. as a Software Engineer, where they built a authentication/authorization server and a Project Haystack API server written in Go.
In 2018, they worked as a Software Consultant for Ardan Labs / CampMinder, helping build a microarchitecture backend to support a mobile app, consulting on best practices in Go, and giving recommendations on authentication/authorization. Benjamin then moved to PowerChord, Inc. as a Software Engineer, creating a testing framework to build and test command chains on an event source system used to build and save rendering instructions for the company's hyper-local website render.
In 2019, they worked as a Software Consultant for sensorFact Services, Inc., updating documentation, monitoring services, and performing ad hoc software maintenance and other projects. Benjamin also worked as a Software Engineer for KnowBe4. Currently, they are a Senior DevOps Engineer for AuthenticID.
Benjamin York obtained a Bachelor's of Science in Computer Science and Mathematics from McKendree University in 2010. Benjamin also obtained three additional certifications; Machine Learning from Coursera in 2014, Programming a Robotic Car from Udacity in 2012, and Security+ from CompTIA in 2011.
