Marijke Segers is an experienced data scientist and manager currently serving as Manager of Data Analytics & Innovation and Coordinator at the Taskforce Data and Algorithms for The Netherlands Authority for Consumers and Markets since February 2018. Prior to this role, Marijke held a volunteer position as a Data Scientist at 510.global, focusing on enhancing road data quality from Open Street Map to aid connectivity in regions such as Malawi. Marijke's academic background includes a postdoctoral research appointment and a PhD in Astrophysics at Leiden University, where extensive research was conducted on galaxy formation, the abundance of heavy elements, and dark matter. Marijke has also served as a teaching assistant and conducted various research projects during the academic journey, culminating in a Master's degree in Astronomy from Leiden University.
