P. Alison Fleming (first name Patricia) is the President of Lumena Financial Strategies, and has been a Financial Advisor since 1989 when she joined Waddell & Reed. For twenty years of her career she also managed, trained and mentored advisors for the company while responsible for the Torrance Division office, being recognized in 2011 and 2012 as a Distinguished Managing Principal.*
Alison holds a Bachelor’s degree in Speech Communication from California State University, Long Beach and has been a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM practitioner since 1996.
Her deep belief in the financial planning process and her desire to work one-on-one with clients led her to a crossroads in 2012. As the Division grew, her management responsibilities were detracting from her ability to directly impact clients’ lives so she decided to leave the Managing Principal position and return to her financial planning roots; transitioning back into the role of Financial Advisor.
After moving to the Carmel Valley area, she became involved in the local community in San Diego while maintaining her ties to her clients in the Los Angeles area. Currently, Alison serves on the board of Autism Care Today and annually sponsors the ONEHOPE Autism Care Today for Military Families Run/Walk in Mission Bay.
Alison is a Paul Harris Fellow, long-time member of Rotary, and has served on boards and committees of several organizations over the years. She firmly believes in the Rotary motto “Service Above Self” and our local motto “Be a Long Term Thinker, Not a Short Term Worrier,” applying these beliefs to her relationships with clients.
As President, Alison’s goal for Lumena is to assemble a team of professionals who combine the best of their collective experience on behalf of clients. Her leadership background and understanding of the intricacies of the current financial landscape allows her to work individually with clients while expanding the services available to clients, providing the continuity and depth of experience that clients deserve and expect today.
