Autism Ontario
Christa Sawyer serves as the Chief Operations Officer at Autism Ontario, overseeing a staff of over 200 and managing diverse programs such as Care Coordination and Service Navigation. Previously, Christa held the position of Director of Programs and Services, where leadership was provided for a team of 60+ staff while ensuring the smooth operation of various support initiatives. Additional roles include Community Events and Resource Manager and Community Events Supervisor, with a focus on capacity building for volunteer-led chapters. Christa also served as a Continuing Education Professor at Humber College, ensuring quality education and developing course content. Early career experience includes roles as an English Teacher at TalktoCanada.com and Family and Outreach Director at Life Church Oshawa. Christa holds a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from Yorkville University, a Web Design Certificate from Durham College, and a Bachelor of Theology from Master's College and Seminary.

Autism Ontario (legally incorporated as Autism Society Ontario) is a charitable organization with a history of over 50 years representing the thousands of people on the autism spectrum and their families across Ontario. Made up of knowledgeable parents, professionals, and autistic self-advocates who can speak to the key issues that impact autistic individuals and their families, Autism Ontario is the province’s leading source of information and referral on autism, and one of the largest collective voices representing the autism community. There are seven regions across the province of Ontario.
