Chathura Seneviratne has extensive experience in the field of electrical controls engineering. Chathura started their career as an Electrical/Controls Engineering Intern at EnerFab Pvt Ltd in 2013, where they gained experience in SCADA system design, electrical and control room operations, and plant performance tracking. After that, they worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at Southeast Missouri State University from 2013 to 2015.
In 2015, Chathura joined CleanSpark as an Electrical Controls Engineer, where they contributed to electrical control projects. Chathura then moved on to Kartech Solutions, Inc. in 2016, where they worked as an Electrical Controls Engineer. At Skilled Group, they served as an Electrical Controls Engineer from 2017 to 2019.
Currently, Chathura is employed at Automated Control Concepts, Inc. Chathura has held multiple roles at this company, including Senior Project Engineer from November 2019 to November 2020, and currently as Lead Engineer. In these roles, they have developed PLC programs, designed and developed HMI applications, and created Computerized System Validation (CSV) documents according to GAMP 5 requirements. Chathura has also executed test scripts and performed project commissioning and troubleshooting.
Throughout their career, Chathura has gained expertise in various programming languages and systems, such as Ladder Logic, Structured Text, Function Blocks, and Rockwell FactoryTalk. Chathura has also worked with SCADA systems, including Ignition SCADA, and has experience with Python scripting and MSSQL/MySQL database setup and programming.
Chathura Seneviratne completed a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Technology Management from Southeast Missouri State University from 2013 to 2015. Prior to that, from 2012 to 2013, Chathura earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Electrical and Control Engineering Technology from the same university.
In addition to their formal education, Chathura has obtained several certifications. These include Ignition 8 Certified from Inductive Automation in March 2020, Step 7 Graph Programming from Siemens in November 2017, Siemens S7 Programming 2 from Siemens in October 2017, 10-Hour OSHA Hazard Recognition Training for General Industry from American Safety Council, Inc. in October 2016, Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED from American Red Cross in January 2016, NFPA 70E for Managers and Electricians from ClickSafety in January 2016, Boiler Systems Management from Arkansas Manufacturing Solutions in October 2014, Fundermentals of Compressed Air Systems from Arkansas Manufacturing Solutions in October 2014, and Certification of Participation U.S. DOE Industrial Assessment Center Program from U.S. Department of Energy in August 2013.
