Christopher Birnie

Christopher Birnie has extensive experience in the field of process and automation engineering. Christopher is currently the Vice President of Technology at Automated Engineering Services, Inc. since 2019. Prior to this, they owned and was a member of CMB Solutions LLC from 2018 to 2019. From 2016 to 2018, they served as a Senior Director at AES (Automation Engineering Systems). Before that, they worked as a Senior Process/Automation Engineering and Validation Consultant at PSC Biotech from 2013 to 2016. Christopher also has experience as a Senior Automation Engineer at Roche/Genentech from 2010 to 2013, a Systems Engineer at Finesse Solutions, LLC from 2007 to 2010, an Engineer II at Genentech from 2005 to 2007, and a Process and Automation Engineer at Biogen-Idec from 2001 to 2005. Christopher started their career as a Manufacturing Operator at IDEC Pharmaceuticals in 1997 and later worked as a Manufacturing Technical Support/Engineering at Biogen Idec from 1997 to 2005.

Christopher Birnie completed their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Biotech and Physiology from UC San Diego from 1992 to 1996. Christopher then pursued further education and obtained a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from San Diego State University, which they completed from 1999 to 2000.
