Mikael Korpela

Mikael Korpela is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in product leadership and design in the digital media sector. At Automattic since January 2018, Mikael serves as Product and Team Lead, overseeing the newsletter product and managing cross-functional teams. Mikael has also assumed the role of Lead of Leads, guiding four product teams on WordPress.com. Prior to this, Mikael co-founded the Trustroots Foundation, fostering a community for travelers, and engaged in freelance design and development from 2002 to 2017. Additionally, Mikael has held various roles in prominent companies, including Frontend Developer at Byroo, Art Director at Into-Digital Oy, and Graphic Designer at Gemilo Ltd, demonstrating a diverse skill set across web, graphic design, and project leadership.
