Michael Shear

Michael Shear is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in leadership and strategic advisory roles. Currently serving as a Strategic Advisor at Autonomy Institute since November 2023, Michael focuses on developing secure and intelligent infrastructure for innovative work centers. As the Chief Executive Officer of Strategic Office Networks, LLC since January 2003, Michael addresses transportation congestion issues and their impact on employers and employees. In addition, Michael has contributed as the Technology Local Member Council Co-chair for ULI Austin, engaging with evolving technologies in the built environment. Previously, as Director of Broadband Planning Initiatives from October 2011 to November 2023, Michael was dedicated to educating community leaders on broadband infrastructure. Michael also held the position of President & CEO at POCKETS Distributed Workplace Alternative from 2001 to 2009. Educationally, Michael holds a Master’s degree in Telecommunications and a Bachelor’s degree in International Affairs from the University of Colorado Boulder.
