Reed Clay is currently a Board Member at Autonomy Institute. Prior to that, they served as the Chief Operating Officer for the Office of Texas Governor Greg Abbott from January 2015 to October 2018. Reed also served as Special Assistant and Senior Counsel to the Attorney General for the Texas Attorney General's office from January 2010 to December 2014. And, prior to that, they were a Trial Attorney for the U.S. Department of Justice in the Commercial Litigation Branch of the Civil Division from October 2005 to December 2009.
Reed Clay completed a BA in Philosophy at Wake Forest University, followed by a JD/MA in Law and Philosophy from Duke University School of Law. Reed then attended Fort Worth Country Day School.
