Karrie Pece

Director of Talent & Operations at AutonomyWorks

Karrie joined AutonomyWorks in 2013 and now serves as the company’s Director of Talent and Operations. Prior to joining AutonomyWorks, Karrie spent more than fifteen years working with individuals with disabilities and helping them to achieve independence in their professional and personal lives. Most recently, as an Employment Specialist with the LaGrange Area Department of Special Education (LADSE), Karrie focused on vocational rehabilitation and transitioning high school students into competitive employment opportunities. Karrie worked directly with business partners to understand their needs and to identify the areas where individuals with disabilities could add the most value to their companies.

Karrie has created several programs to help individuals with autism achieve independence; including social clubs and a high school curriculum training program designed to prepare students for competitive employment. She is the co-author of award winning Self-Advocacy curriculum which resulted in hundreds of individuals with disabilities developing self-advocacy skills. Karrie has an extensive background in Special Recreation and is fluent in American Sign Language.

Karrie earned her Master’s Degree in Rehabilitation Counseling and a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Human Resource Management. She is a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor and appreciates combining her business skills with her passion for changing the way the world views people with disabilities. She also enjoys traveling, reading, and helping others to achieve their goals.
