Dennis Akker

Dennis Akker is a seasoned legal professional with extensive experience in the financial and regulatory sectors. Since August 2012, Dennis has served as a senior jurist at Autoriteit Financiële Markten, focusing on the integrity of the accountancy sector and advising regulators on enforcement measures. Prior to this role, Dennis worked as a financial investigator at KLPD, combating money laundering and recovering criminal assets. Additionally, Dennis held various legal and coordination positions at the Belastingdienst and Douane Nederland, specializing in tax-related issues and customs regulations. Academically, Dennis holds an LLM and LLB in law from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, completed with cum laude honors, and has further education from Politieacademie and HEAO Alkmaar.
