Ewout van den Berg has extensive work experience in the finance industry. Ewout started their career in 1987 as a Floortrader/Market Maker for Equity Derivatives at International Option Investment B.V. In 1991, they became a Director at the same company. In 1993, they joined ABN AMRO as the Head of Trading for the Dutch Equity Derivatives Proprietary Desk, where they worked until 2004. In 2005, they joined AFM as a Senior Supervision Officer in the Market Conduct Surveillance team Capital Markets. Their main responsibilities included monitoring energy/commodity and financial markets, detecting market abuse such as market manipulation and insider trading, and being a data specialist. Ewout also had expertise in Equity/Derivatives trading and MiFID II regulations. During their time at AFM, they were a member of the ESMA Pre-Trade Working Task Force MiFID II and the Euronext NV International WP3 regulators group.
Ewout van den Berg attended Breda University of Applied Sciences from 1982 to 1985, where they did not complete a specific degree or field of study. Additionally, they have a registration in DSI as a Senior Securities trader, but no specific start or end years are provided for this education.
