Jorge Chavez

Jorge Chavez is currently the Business Development Manager at Autosplice. Prior to this, they were a Product Quotations Engineer at Aptiv from November 2017 to February 2019. In this role, they were responsible for quoting activities in support of new business development. Jorge coordinated with cross-functional team members to develop the pricing proposal to customers, with a primary focus on the creation of BOMs for new products and making suggestions on components and equipment to achieve project success. Jorge also submitted and reviewed all product changes to ensure that critical customer requirements were appropriately identified as well as the cost impact of any changes.

From January 2007 to November 2017, Jorge was an Engineering Project Manager at Right Hand Manufacturing. In this role, they managed requests for quotation (RFQ), created and submitted customer quotations, and estimated labor and materials costs. Jorge also led projects for new product introduction, prototypes, validation, First Article, and PPAPs. In addition, Jorge developed BOMs, documentation, and support to unit businesses to solve production issues, answer corrective and preventive actions, and propose and generate engineering changes ECNs. Jorge maintained communication with customers regarding order status, helped design custom products, made sure each stage of the project was progressing on time and on budget, and travelled to visit potential clients. Jorge has established relationships with customers, analyzed costs and sales, and supported marketing by attending trade shows, conferences, and other marketing events.

Jorge Chavez pursued a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) at the Instituto Tecnológico de Tijuana in the field of industrial engineering.
