Ava Community Energy
Forrest Csulak is a Distributed Energy Resources (DERs) Associate at Ava Community Energy with experience in analyzing and strategizing energy markets at companies like Kraken and Olivine, Inc. As a Research Intern at UC Berkeley Transportation Sustainability Research Center, they focused on California's Low Carbon Fuel Standard policy. Ava Community Energy (Ava), formerly East Bay Community Energy (EBCE), is the local, not-for-profit electricity supplier powering Alameda County and the City of Tracy (electricity service to the Cities of Stockton and Lathrop will begin in 2025). Ava provides clean, green energy at low rates to our 640,000 customers. We reinvest earnings back into the community to create local green energy jobs, local programs, and clean power projects. Ava member cities include Albany, Berkeley, Dublin, Emeryville, Fremont, Hayward, Livermore, Newark, Oakland, Piedmont, Pleasanton, San Leandro, Stockton, Tracy, and Union City. The unincorporated areas of Alameda County (including Ashland, Castro Valley, Cherryland, Fairview, San Lorenzo, and Sunol) are also served by Ava.
