Johanna Hertel has a diverse background in commercial analytics and data science. Johanna is currently working as an Associate Director at Avadel Pharmaceuticals plc, starting in 2023. Prior to this, they held various roles at Ascensia Diabetes Care from 2016 to 2021. As the Senior Manager of Global Business Analytics, they led and consulted on commercial analytics across the organization, aligning data strategy with overall business strategy. Johanna also established regional insights teams and conducted market research to drive growth in emerging markets. Previously, Johanna founded and led TEMAconsult, a boutique consulting and analytics company specializing in forecasting and marketing mix analytics in OTC/FMCG markets. Johanna also worked as a freelance market intelligence analyst in OTC and FMCG and served as an Assistant Professor of Economics at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Johanna's expertise lies in generating insights from data, driving business growth, and integrating high-quality data for effective decision-making.

Johanna Hertel obtained a non-degree certificate in Measurement, Design, and Analysis Methods for Health Outcomes Research from Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health in 2020. Prior to that, they earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Economics / Behavioral Economics from Princeton University, from 1999 to 2005. Johanna also completed a Doctoral Program in Advanced Economics & Econometrics at the Swiss Central Bank Doctoral Program at Gerzenzee from 1997 to 1998. Johanna'sundergraduate education was completed at the University of St.Gallen, where they obtained a Lic. Oec in Economics from 1992 to 1996.

In February 2020, they earned a Certificate of Completion - Data Science and Data Engineering Bootcamp from Data Science Dojo.
