Stephen Frye

Stephen Frye has a diverse work experience spanning multiple roles and companies. Their most recent position is as the Interim CTO at Avalanche Studios Group, a role they started in October 2023. Prior to that, they worked at Electronic Arts (EA) for almost 20 years, where they held various senior positions such as Senior Director Architecture, Domain Product Owner, Senior Software Architect, and Product Owner/Program Manager. Stephen also has experience as a Lead Software Engineer at EA, specializing in core systems and asset processing technologies. Before joining EA, they co-founded Anquet Technology Ltd. and served as the Director/Technical Director, leading the successful development and growth of the consumer mapping application, Anquet Maps. Additionally, Stephen worked as a Software Engineer at Tsien (UK) Ltd. for a brief period in the mid-1990s.

Stephen Frye obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Mathematics from the University of Pennsylvania from 1995 to 2001. Stephen also earned a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Computer Science from the same university between 1997 and 1999. Prior to that, Frye pursued a degree in Mathematics at the University of Cambridge, where they obtained a BA from 1990 to 1993, and a CASM from 1993 to 1994. In addition to their academic achievements, Frye holds certifications as a Certified Scrum Product Owner and a Certified ScrumMaster, granted by the Scrum Alliance in 2011.
