Susan Packal serves as the Head of Global Legal Operations & Chief of Staff at Avalara since October 2025, and holds a position as an Advisory Board Member at Brightflag since July 2024. Previously, as Head of Global Legal Operations at Atlassian from July 2023 to October 2025, Susan was instrumental in leading legal operations initiatives. Susan founded High Desert Legal Ops in December 2022, focusing on strategic and operational roadmaps for corporate legal departments, and has held significant roles in other companies, including Snyk and Twilio Inc., where Susan built and led legal operations functions and developed essential frameworks for risk analysis and career development. Susan's extensive experience in legal operations also includes tenures at eBay, Uber, and Hilton Worldwide, where notable achievements include implementing cost-saving initiatives and award-winning legal strategies. Susan holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
