Yingping Zhang

Yingping Zhang has extensive work experience in the field of information technology and management. They most recently held the role of VP, Head of IT/IS at Avalo Therapeutics since August 2021. Prior to this, Yingping was an Executive Consultant at Insightful Group LLC starting in May 2021. They also served as the VP, Information Technology at Horizon from March 2021 to May 2021.

From 2018 to 2021, Yingping worked at Viela Bio as the VP, Head of IT/IS. During this time, they developed and implemented a cloud first strategy and built a secure digital capability for the biotech company. They led a team that delivered digital capability across various business areas and established an enterprise data management and analytics platform.

Before joining Viela Bio, Yingping worked at AstraZeneca/Medimmune from 2012 to 2018 as the IT Head - Research and Translational Science. In this role, they oversaw the delivery of IT solutions for the R&D pipeline and collaborated with the business to shape the vision of information management.

From 2003 to 2012, Yingping held multiple roles at Pfizer, including Director, Business Technology Site Lead and Business Partner/Program Manager. They proactively identified and championed business value-driven initiatives, managed the site BT portfolio, and coordinated resources for IT projects to align with business goals.

Yingping's earlier experience includes a role as a Sr Research Scientist/Lead Automation Engineer at Discovery, Pharmacia Corp.(Pfizer) from 1998 to 2003, where they analyzed work processes and proposed automation solutions. They also worked at the University of Pittsburgh from 1991 to 1998 as a System Manager/Research Specialist, specializing in molecular/toxicological modeling, expert system development, and toxicological database creation.

Yingping Zhang holds a Master of Science (MS) degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh. In addition, in June 2015, Yingping obtained a certification as a SAFe SPC4, Certified Agile Coach from Scaled Agile, Inc. Moreover, in May 2007, Yingping obtained a PMP certification from the Project Management Institute (PMI).
