Jessica Howell has extensive experience in the mental health and housing support fields, currently serving as a MI Care Coordinator at Avalon Housing since October 2015. In this role, Jessica partners with various community-based operations to enhance outcomes for clients with complex needs, focusing on thorough documentation to support grant applications. Previous roles include Program Manager, where supervision of 20 Residential Support Specialists was successfully managed, especially during the pandemic, and as a Medication Program Coordinator, overseeing operations for a 20-member team and a program supporting 35 clients. Jessica's background also includes work as a Psychiatric Care Worker at Michigan Medicine and as a Rehabilitation Specialist at Rainbow Rehabilitation Centers, providing crisis intervention and care in diverse settings. Jessica holds a Bachelor's degree in the Science of Nursing from Eastern Michigan University.

Avalon Housing is an Ann Arbor-based nonprofit created in 1992 to provide supportive long-term housing for people who struggle with homelessness and behavioral and physical health challenges, including substance use disorders. We offer a unique blend of intensive property management, support services and community-building to not only end homelessness but improve people’s quality of life. Avalon serves over 800 adults and children in Washtenaw County.
