Carisa Heiss

Carisa has worked in the non-profit development and communications field for over 20 years and is a very mission-driven individual. She is a native of San Antonio and is proud to be part of an organization that is serving the local community in critical ways – early childhood education, building stronger families through parent-child education and family engagement, and workforce development.

Carisa began her career in Washington, DC at the American Enterprise Institute, following her graduation from Trinity University. She then moved back to San Antonio with a focus on how she could best serve her community and has done so working with Junior Achievement of South Texas, the Barshop Jewish Community Center, San Antonio Sports, Rise Recovery, Hallmark University and now AVANCE – San Antonio.

Carisa and her husband, Josh, have a very lively household with two children, a cat, and a couple of dogs. They are avid Spurs fans and enjoy all the family-friendly activities that the city has to offer.
