Roel Derkman

Roel Derkman began their work experience in the field of clinical research in 2012 at Factory CRO for Medical Devices and IVDs. There, they served as a Clinical Research Associate, assisting with the setup and coordination of clinical trials. Roel also trained study sites on proper clinical trial procedures and conducted monitoring visits and trial closures. In 2015, they were promoted to the role of Sr. Clinical Research Associate, where they organized, coordinated, and monitored clinical trials, ensuring compliance with guidelines and regulatory requirements.

In 2020, Roel Derkman joined Avania as a Senior Clinical Research Associate. In this role, they supported the management of clinical studies for medical devices, IVDs, biologics, and device-drug combination products. Roel played a key role in the design, preparation, implementation, and review of various clinical trials. Later in 2020, Roel Derkman was promoted to Project Manager at Avania.

Roel Derkman pursued their education at the University of Groningen from 2002 to 2008, where they obtained a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Human Movement Sciences.
