Yee Hui Koay

Yee Hui Koay has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. In 2007, they worked as a Trainee at Hospital Taiping in Malaysia. Yee Hui then moved on to become a Trainee at the National University of Singapore in 2008. Later that year, they served as a Research Officer at the Malaysian Institute of Pharmaceuticals and Nutraceuticals.

In 2009, Yee Hui Koay took on the role of a Research Assistant at Universiti Sains Malaysia. Following this, they worked as a Scientist at Cerca Insights Sdn. Bhd. from 2012 to 2013.

The University of Manchester employed Yee Hui Koay as a Graduate Teaching Assistant from 2014 to 2017. Yee Hui also served as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the university from 2017 to 2018.

From 2018 to 2019, Yee Hui Koay worked at Straits Orthopaedics (Mfg) Sdn Bhd as a Senior Engineer/Science Officer, responsible for ensuring compliance with FDA regulations. During their tenure, the company successfully passed FDA inspections without any findings.

Yee Hui Koay then joined ESCO ASTER PTE LTD in 2020, where they held multiple roles. Yee Hui first served as a Scientist from December 2020 to June 2021, followed by a position as a Laboratory Manager from June 2021 to December 2021. Lastly, they took on the role of Scientist, Project Lead (Cellular Agriculture/Clean Meat & Virology) from December 2021 to November 2022.

Currently, Yee Hui Koay is employed at Avant, starting in November 2022, as the Lead of Bioprocess Production & Compliance.

Yee Hui Koay began their education at Universiti Putra Malaysia, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Sciences from 2005 to 2008. Following this, they enrolled at Universiti Sains Malaysia and completed a Master of Science degree in Pharmaceutical Chemistry from 2009 to 2012. Yee Hui'seducational journey continued at The University of Manchester, where they earned a Ph.D. in Molecular and Cellular Neuroscience between 2013 and 2017.
