Margaret Hermes has been working in the legal field for over a decade. Margaret started their career as an associate attorney at McDermott Will and Emery LLP, where they counseled private and publicly-held clients on employee benefits and executive compensation issues. Margaret then moved to Kirkland & Ellis LLP, where they advised clients on M&A issues ranging from $1M to $30B. In April 2013, they joined Groupon as Senior Counsel, Corporate & Securities. In their current role as General Counsel at Avant, they advise global, cross-functional teams on a variety of matters, including corporate governance and policies, executive compensation, employee benefits, M&A issues, and securities.

Margaret Hermes studied Government and English at Georgetown University before going on to study Law at the University of Michigan Law School.
