Andy Watts

Andy Watts is the Vice President of Planning & Growth Solutions for Avantax Wealth Management. He and his team focus on curating solutions that Avantax Financial Professionals can use to help clients pursue their goals. Andy is passionate about leveraging data to intelligently understand client needs and enable Avantax Financial Professionals to deliver solutions efficiently and effectively.

Prior to this role, Andy led Corporate Development for Blucora, the parent company of Avantax Wealth Management, where he was responsible for diligence and post-acquisition strategic integration activities and driving inorganic growth across Blucora’s operating entities, HD Vest, 1st Global, and TaxAct.

During his 18 years with the company, Andy has held several leadership positions, including Senior Director of Strategic Growth Initiatives, Director of Wealth Management, and he has served in roles including Strategy, Tax Smart Investing, Product Management, Business Intelligence, Practice Management, New Advisor Development, Fee Based Planning, and Business Development. Andy specializes in identifying new areas for strategic revenue potential, seeing through to execution and optimization.

Andy is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional and holds the FINRA Series 7 and 66 licenses. He is a graduate of Texas A&M University’s Mays Business School.
