Roy Visser

Roy Visser is a seasoned professional in polymer science and engineering with extensive experience in application development and team leadership. Currently serving as Team Leader for Polymer & Application Development at Avantium since June 2019, Roy Visser specializes in the investigation and development of biobased polymer PEF, focusing on its applications and recycling, often in collaboration with development partners and customers. Prior roles include Group Leader for Application Development at Synvina and Avantium, where the emphasis was on improving biobased polyester PEF for packaging applications. Additionally, Roy Visser has academic experience as an Assistant Professor at Universiteit Twente, where responsibilities included teaching polymer science courses and coordinating engineering modules. Educational qualifications include a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Twente, complemented by research experience across multiple academic institutions.
