Zach Rieck

Zach Rieck has worked at a variety of companies since 2013. Zach began their career as a Head Lifeguard at the University of Utah. In 2014, they joined the Ute Weather Center as an Assistant Director and Weather Forecaster, where they created twice weekly weather forecasts and issued weather news and severe weather alerts. In 2018, they took on a role as a Weather Observer at the Federal Aviation Administration, where they monitored potential meteorological hazards for aviation and reported changes via METAR reports. That same year, they also joined Vail Resorts as a Developer and IT Specialist. In 2019, they became a Research Assistant at Utah State University, and in 2020, they took on a role as an Environmental Data Developer at Synoptic Data PBC, where they designed database schemas and performed ETL processes. Zach is currently a Data Engineer at AvantLink.

Zach Rieck graduated from the University of Utah in 2018 with a Bachelor of Science in Atmospheric Sciences and Meteorology. Zach has also obtained certifications from MySQL DBA UK, CompTIA, and the American Red Cross, including MySQL 5.6 Database Administrator (2022), CompTIA Project+ (2021), CompTIA A+ (2019), Lifeguarding, CPR, and AED (2018), and Lifeguard Instructor (2014).
