Tomas Mellgren

Tomas Mellgren has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Tomas is currently the VP Engineering at Avassa Systems, where they lead the engineering and cloud operations teams, and focuses on building world-class teams and products for the platform as a service company. Prior to this, they worked at Electronic Arts (EA) as the Sr. Director of Engineering.

Tomas also has extensive experience at Cisco, where they held the position of Director Engineering. Tomas led the Tail-f teams within the Cloud Platform and Solutions business unit, where they were responsible for delivering Cisco Network Services Orchestrator (NSO), NFV Orchestration, and ConfD products. Tomas was also involved in driving innovation, technical vision, and architectural guidance for Cisco's NFV, Network Orchestration, and Automation portfolios.

Before joining Cisco, Tomas served as the VP Engineering at Tail-f Systems, where they led highly skilled and dedicated engineering teams in delivering the market-leading Network Services Orchestrator, NSO, and ConfD products. Tomas also worked as a Technical Product Manager during their time at Tail-f.

Tomas began their career at Telenor AB as a Network Architect, where they were responsible for the design and peering of the Swedish IP and MPLS networks. Tomas also worked as a Network Administrator at Datex-Ohmeda AB and as an IT Architect at IBM.

In addition to their corporate experience, Tomas is also the Founder and lead software and system architect for Shapelink.com, a website and community for tracking and sharing fitness goals and nutrition progress.

Tomas Mellgren obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from the KTH Royal Institute of Technology, where they studied from 2003 to 2006.
