Jean-Baptiste Masson has a diverse work experience spanning multiple companies and roles. jean-baptiste started their career in 2008 as a Research Scientist at Institut Pasteur and later became the Principal Investigator of the Decision and Bayesian Computation lab in February 2017. In 2014, they worked as a Visiting Scientist at Janelia Farm Research Campus and Locco Laboratory, Institut Curie. In 2019, they joined Institut PR[AI]RIE as the Chaire PR[AI]RIE. Most recently, in 2020, they co-founded AVATAR MEDICAL and holds the position of Co-Founder & CSO.

Jean-Baptiste Masson began their education in 2000 at Janson de Sailly, where they pursued a Classe préparatoire aux grandes écoles in the field of PC*. jean-baptiste then went on to attend the École normale supérieure de Lyon from 2002 to 2004, where they obtained a Magistère in Theoretical and Mathematical Physics. Finally, from 2004 to 2007, Masson studied at the École Polytechnique, where they earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Physics.
