Pasan Ranathunga

Pasan Ranathunga has a diverse work experience spanning several roles and companies. Pasan is currently employed at avatarin as a Senior Software Engineer, a position they have held since April 2023. Prior to this, from April 2022 to April 2023, Pasan worked as a Frontend Engineer at avatarin. From 2012 onwards, they also freelanced as a Graphic Designer and Video Editor on Fiverr. Starting in 2007, Pasan was self-employed as a Graphic Designer. Pasan also worked as a Senior Software Engineer at LankaSolution Enterprise (Pvt) Ltd from October 2020 to March 2022. Pasan has experience in organizing events as they served as the Co-Organizer of GDG Cloud Sri Lanka from January 2018 to January 2021. Previously, they worked as a Software Engineer at 99X Technology from January 2018 to September 2020. Pasan held leadership positions as the President (May 2017 to September 2018) and Secretary (September 2016 to May 2017) at the IEEE Student Branch of University of Colombo School of Computing. In 2016, they were a Google Code In Mentor and a Trainee Software Engineer at 99X Technology. Lastly, Pasan served as the Vice President of Information Management & Communication at AIESEC in University of Colombo - Sri Lanka from July 2015 to July 2016.

Pasan Ranathunga completed their school education from Thurstan College - Colombo, where they focused on mathematics from 1997 to 2011. Later, from 2014 to 2017, they attended the University of Colombo School of Computing, where they obtained a Bsc (Hons) in Computer Science with a specialization in Computer Software Engineering. In February 2016, they also obtained a certification in MongoDB for Developers from MongoDB, Inc.
