Willem van der Veer has a diverse work experience. Willem is currently an Investment Director at Avedon Capital Partners, a position they have held since January 2022. Prior to this role, they served as an Investment Manager at the same company from September 2019 to December 2021.
Before joining Avedon Capital Partners, Willem worked as an Investment Professional at Volpi Capital LLP from October 2016 to September 2019. Willem also gained experience as an Investment Banking Summer Associate at Bank of America Merrill Lynch in June 2016 to August 2016.
Willem's career started at Gupta Strategists in 2012, where they held the positions of Consultant and later Senior Consultant. At Gupta Strategists, they worked on strategy development, reorganization, and commercial due diligence projects for healthcare service providers, insurers, medical suppliers, and private equity.
Before entering the field of finance and consulting, Willem was a Surgical Resident at OLVG from 2011 to 2012.
Willem van der Veer has a diverse education history. Willem obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a concentration in Finance and Private Equity from the London Business School between 2015 and 2017. Prior to that, they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Molecular Biology at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU Amsterdam) from 2007 to 2011. Willem also holds a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from VU Amsterdam, earned between 2003 and 2010. Additionally, van der Veer briefly studied Emergency Medicine at the University of Pretoria in 2010. Their education journey began at St. Ignatius Gymnasium between 1997 and 2003.
