Andrea Cusumano

Professor Cusumano is a Research Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of Rome Tor Vergata (Italy). As a researcher of the Alexander von-Humboldt Foundation, he directed the Alfred Krupp Electron Microscopy Lab of the Eye Clinic at the Friedrich-Wilhelms University in Bonn. As a surgeon and medical scientist expert in the ultrastructural analysis of the eye, he is actively contributing to the development of groundbreaking diagnostic techniques as well as to the introduction of new surgical and laser procedures for the treatment of hereditary eye diseases. Professor Cusumano is the Founder and President of the Macula & Genoma Foundation Onlus, a worldwide non-profit organization supporting translational medicine in the field of ophthalmology.
