Lars Mouritsen

Lars Mouritsen is an experienced professional with a diverse work history spanning over three decades. Lars currently holds the position of President & Chief Executive Officer at Avendium, a role they began in 2023. Prior to this, Lars served as the Director of Vendor Quality at Sumitomo Pharma Oncology from July 2020 to September 2022, where they oversaw vendor qualification and management for over 230 vendors across multiple clinical programs.

Before joining Sumitomo Pharma Oncology, Lars worked at Tolero Pharmaceuticals, Inc., where they held two executive positions. From September 2019 to June 2020, they served as the Executive Director of Quality Assurance and Regulatory Affairs, overseeing various quality and regulatory aspects of the company's clinical oncology and hematology programs. Additionally, Lars served as the Executive Director of Biomarker Development at Tolero Pharmaceuticals from March 2017 to September 2019, leading the delivery of high-quality biomarker strategies.

Prior to their time at Tolero Pharmaceuticals, Lars held multiple roles at Sorenson Genomics. From January 2007 to March 2017, they served as the Chief Scientific Officer and Director of Business Development, where they facilitated the sale of Identigene and Sorenson Genomics. Lars also led research and development and new product development for all divisions of Sorenson Genomics. Lars previously served as the Chief Scientific Officer and Director of Laboratory Operations, overseeing all technical aspects and research and development within the organization. Lars also held the position of Laboratory Manager, managing personnel, laboratory testing methods, and operational budgets.

Lars began their career at ARUP Laboratories, where they worked as a Laboratory Supervisor from 1992 to 2002. Lars supervised staff members in the Molecular Pathology Laboratory and contributed to research and development, validation, and implementation of various genetic and infectious disease tests.

Throughout their career, Lars has gained extensive experience in quality assurance, regulatory affairs, vendor management, biomarker development, research and development, and laboratory operations. Lars has demonstrated strong leadership skills in managing teams and has contributed to the growth and success of the organizations they have worked with.

Lars Mouritsen completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Biology-Genetics at the University of Utah from 1986 to 1991. In terms of additional certifications, they obtained the Certified Laboratory Specialist in Molecular Biology (CLSp(MB)) certificate from the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) in 1998. Lars also achieved the Specialist in Immunology certification from ASCP in 1993. Later, in 2013, they obtained the Inspection Team Leader certificate from the College of American Pathologists (CAP). Most recently, in 2020, Lars Mouritsen became a Diplomate in Laboratory Management from ASCP.
