Vice President, Clinical Operations at Avenge Bio

Karen A. has over 18 years of work experience in the life sciences industry. Karen began their career in 2003 as a Student Affairs Manager at The School for Field Studies. In 2005, they joined ArQule, Inc. as a Clinical Research Associate. Karen then moved to Merrimack Pharmaceuticals in 2007, where they held the roles of Associate Director, Clinical Quality Assurance, Manager, GCP Operations, and Senior Clinical Trial Manager. In 2017, they joined Boston Pharmaceuticals as a Senior Director, Clinical Operations, and in 2022 they were appointed Vice President, Clinical Operations at Avenge Bio.

Karen A. has a diverse educational background. Karen obtained a Diploma from Danvers High School, followed by a Bachelor's degree in Biology from Colby College. Karen then studied abroad at The School for Field Studies, focusing on Sustainable Development in Costa Rica. Karen A. went on to receive a Master of Science (MS) in Development and Regulation of Medicines and Devices from Tufts University School of Medicine. Currently, they are pursuing a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Health Sector Management from the Questrom School of Business at Boston University, which they will complete in 2025. Additionally, Karen A. holds a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification, which they obtained in September 2016.
