Sophie Starck

Sophie Starck is an experienced investor currently working at Avenir since June 2025. Previously, Sophie was part of the Investment Team at Insight Partners from September 2020 to June 2025, where engagement in multiple Series A, B, C, and E funding rounds occurred, including notable startups such as Bubble, Coast, and Tailscale. Prior to this, Sophie founded and directed Van Wickle Ventures, a micro venture fund focused on Brown- and RISD-affiliated companies, from September 2018 to August 2020. In the earlier stages of Sophie's career, leadership roles included President of the Brown University Entrepreneurship Program and involvement with Endeavor’s Entrepreneur Selection & Growth Team, as well as the Venture Growth Team at SeedInvest. Sophie's academic background includes a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Brown University, a semester abroad at the Stockholm School of Economics, and a high school diploma from The Brearley School.
