Ali Barari, M.Sc., EIT

Firmware & Control Systems Lead at Avestec Technologies Inc.

Ali Barari, a M.Sc. and EIT, has experience as a Firmware/Control Engineer at Avestec Technologies and has helped design and build the Iris CubeSat at STAR Lab, including leading the payload subsystem and giving presentations on the project's progress. As a Graduate Researcher at the University of Manitoba, they investigated the path-following performance of an Autonomous Four In-wheel Motor Drive Electric Vehicle and designed a hierarchical structure controller using MATLAB/Simulink. Ali has also introduced a drone-based testbed to test spacecraft control systems and developed a dynamic emulation method to emulate spacecraft with different dynamics and/or mass properties. Ali has demonstrated the feasibility of the dynamic emulation method using numerical simulations and built a 6-DOF/omnidirectional drone.

Ali Barari completed their high school diploma at the National Organization for Development of Exceptional Talents (Sampad) between 2006 and 2013. Ali then pursued their Bachelor of Applied Science (BASc) in Mechanical Engineering from K. N. Toosi University of Technology, which they completed in 2017. Between 2019 and 2022, Ali furthered their education by obtaining their Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Aerospace/Mechanical Engineering from the University of Manitoba, where they achieved a GPA of 4.08/4.5.

Ali has also earned several certifications. Ali obtained Engineer-in-Training (EIT) from Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba in April 2023. Earlier, they completed the "Accelerating Your Career with Personal Branding" course from LinkedIn in January 2023, and "Learning Git and GitHub" course from LinkedIn in October 2022. In addition, Ali completed the "Learning C" course from LinkedIn in June 2022. In April 2020, they earned the Level 3 - STK Grand Master Certification from AGI (Analytical Graphics, Inc.). In the same month, they also completed the "Robotics: Aerial Robotics" course from Coursera.
