Peter Wood

Peter Wood is a seasoned professional in the housing and construction industry, currently serving as the President of the Housing Industry Association (HIA) in Queensland since March 2019, after previously holding the position of Vice President. Peter has been the General Manager of Housing at AVID Property Group since July 2020, and held a similar role at Avid Property Group / Villa World from November 2019 to July 2020. With extensive experience, Peter was the National Building Manager at Villa World from July 2015 to July 2020, and the Queensland Building Manager at Clarendon Homes from April 2010 to July 2015. Earlier roles include Construction Manager and Site Manager at Mirvac, Manager of Contracts and Regional Service Manager at Neumann Steel Pty Ltd, and several positions at AVJennings. Peter holds a Certificate IV in Workplace Health & Safety from the National Safety Council and a Diploma in Building and Construction from Marymount College Gold Coast.
