Giuseppe Dello Iacono

Giuseppe Dello Iacono has a strong background in chemistry, specifically in oligonucleotide and peptide synthesis. Giuseppe has held several senior scientist and research associate roles throughout their career.

Starting in 2000, Giuseppe worked as a Senior Research Associate at AMLN, where they synthesized, purified, and analyzed peptides for biological testing. Giuseppe also conducted SAR investigations to improve the properties of selected peptides.

In 2005, Giuseppe joined Trimeris as a Scientist II, where they performed automated and manual synthesis, purification, and analysis of peptides for research feasibility studies. Giuseppe also supported chemistry manufacturing through impurity identification and synthesis.

From 2007 to 2008, Giuseppe worked at Sigma Aldrich as a Peptide Production Scientist, optimizing automated peptide synthesis and managing the production of the "AQUA" peptide library.

At CovX-Pfizer, where they worked from 2008 to 2013 as a Senior Scientist, Giuseppe served as the Chemistry Lead in multidisciplinary teams focusing on metabolic disease and oncology projects. Giuseppe synthesized libraries of peptides and peptidomimetics and implemented a high-throughput platform capable of generating 200-300 peptides weekly.

From 2013 to 2018, Giuseppe was a Senior Scientist at Solstice Biologics. In this role, they led the synthesis of oligonucleotides to support ongoing programs, prepared and purified synthetic RNA and DNA, and introduced a high-throughput platform capable of producing thousands of oligonucleotides weekly.

As a Scientist II at Avelas Biosciences from 2018 to 2019, Giuseppe carried out multi-step synthesis, purification, and characterization of small organic compounds, peptides, and drug-dye conjugates. Giuseppe also performed purifications using various techniques.

From 2019 to 2020, Giuseppe served as a Sr Research Associate II at Ferring Pharmaceuticals, where they improved and optimized the synthesis and purification of complex peptides and implemented a high-throughput peptide platform.

Most recently, Giuseppe worked at Arrowhead Pharmaceuticals from 2020 to 2021 as a Sr Scientist I. Giuseppe fully established and managed the oligo/bioconjugation chemistry lab, introduced a high-throughput platform for generating hundreds of oligonucleotides weekly, and supervised and coordinated the lab to ensure quality and on-time delivery.

Currently, Giuseppe works at Avidity Biosciences as a Sr Scientist in Oligonucleotide Chemistry.

Giuseppe Dello Iacono pursued their higher education between 1989 and 1996 at the Università degli Studi di Napoli Federico II. During this period, they obtained a Master of Science (MS) degree in Biochemistry.
