Maria Hedlund

Maria Hedlund has a diverse work experience in the scientific field. Maria is currently working as a Principal Scientist in toxicology at Avidity Biosciences, Inc. since May 2023. Prior to that, they worked as the Director of Nonclinical Development at Kate Therapeutics from January 2022 to March 2023. Maria also served as a Senior Scientist at BioMarin Pharmaceutical Inc. from June 2019 to January 2022.

Earlier in their career, Maria worked as a Principal Scientist at Pfizer from August 2010 to June 2017. Maria also held the position of Senior Scientist at Nexbio from January 2008 to July 2010.

Maria started their career as a Postdoctoral Scientist at Lund University from July 1993 to May 2000. Maria then continued their research at the University of California, San Diego - School of Medicine, where they first worked as a Postdoctoral Scientist from January 2003 to January 2006 and later as an Assistant Project Scientist from January 2006 to January 2008.

Maria Hedlund obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Medical Microbiology and Bacteriology from Lund University. Maria completed their doctoral degree from 1993 to 2000.
