Joel Campbell

Joel Campbell has extensive work experience in the geospatial industry. Joel began their career in 1994 as Director of US Sales at ESRI and held this position until 2005. From 2005 to 2006, Campbell established and worked as a Principal at GIS Enterprise Consulting, focusing on sales and management consulting for ESRI business partners. Joel then served as Senior VP of Corporate Sales at EarthData in 2005. In 2006, Campbell became VP & General Manager at Definiens, overseeing sales and operations in the Americas. From 2007 to 2009, they were Senior Director of Product Management at GeoEye. In 2009, Campbell joined ERDAS as President, CEO, and Chairman of the Board, leading the development of geospatial business systems. Joel continued their career at Intergraph from 2011 to 2012, first as VP of Geospatial Products and then involved in the transition as ERDAS was merged into Intergraph. Most recently, Campbell worked as Senior Vice President of Commercial Systems at Avineon since 2013, specializing in geospatial information technology and engineering services.

Joel Campbell holds a Certificate in Executive Leadership from Cornell University, obtained in 2016. Joel also completed a course in Broadcasting at the University of Maryland Global Campus in 1979-1980. Joel has additional certifications, such as the GISP from the GIS Certification Institute, obtained in January 2015, and a certification from the Center for Creative Leadership.
