Alain Hufkens has a diverse work experience in the field of mobile app development. Alain started their career as a Freelance Mobile Developer in 2012, specializing in iOS development and also working with Flutter and React Native. In the same year, they co-founded Wee Taps, a company that develops iPhone and iPad apps for kids. Alain later joined Bringme in 2016 as an iOS Developer and worked for Small Town Heroes as an iOS Developer from 2014 to 2017, mainly developing apps for television.

In 1992, Alain enrolled at UHasselt and pursued a Master's degree in Commercial Engineer in Computer Science, which they completed in 1998. During their time at UHasselt, Alain also briefly studied Economics at the University of Lille 1 Sciences and Technology in 1994. In addition to their formal education, Alain Hufkens obtained the certification of Certified Scrum Master from the Scrum Alliance in October 2012.
