Bob Sorrell has over 20 years of work experience in various roles and companies. Bob started their career at Ford Motor Company in 1992, where they worked as a Systems and Product Engineer. During this time, they were involved in powertrain control electronics, program management for Visteon/Ford Racing, and marketing and competitive analysis for product development. In 2005, they joined Moog, Inc. as a Senior Project Engineer, where they worked on space and defense projects. In 2008, they became a Project Manager at BAE Systems, Inc. and then moved to Avion Solutions, Inc. in 2009 as a Principal Engineer, focused on rotorcraft propulsion systems for U.S. Army Aviation. In 2017, they became the President of SDR Systems, LLC.
Bob Sorrell earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Engineering Mechanics from Penn State University, where they attended from 1987 to 1991. Bob later pursued a Master of Science degree in Aerospace Systems Engineering with a specialization in Propulsion at The University of Alabama in Huntsville from 2009 to 2016. Additionally, from 2008 to 2011, Bob Sorrell attended Defense Acquisition University, where they studied Program Management and Systems Engineering.
