Vern Malensky

Vern Malensky is an accomplished engineering professional with extensive experience in the energy sector. Currently serving as the Director of Electrical Engineering and Design and Program Director for Wildfire Resiliency at Avista since January 2012, Vern leads teams focused on substation, transmission line, distribution, and wildfire resilience projects. Prior positions at Avista include Manager roles in Energy Efficiency Engineering, Natural Gas Pipeline Integrity and Compliance, Gas Operations, Engineering Projects, and Advanced Metering Infrastructure. Vern began a career in engineering at T-O Engineers, Inc., where as a Staff/Project Engineer, Vern specialized in aviation engineering. Vern holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Idaho, obtained in 2006.
