Samir Mitra

Samir Mitra is a board member and advisor at Avo Automation. Samir was previously the Chief Innovation Advisor at the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research in India from February 2011 to November 2021. In this role, they advised the head of CSIR, Director General Prof. Samir Brahmachari, on innovation strategies and roadmaps for CSIR to deliver innovations for inclusive growth, specifically for SME organizations. CSIR is India's largest R&D labs network consisting of over 39 labs with close to 15,000 scientists spanning various technology domains from pharma to materials to genetics research. Leader in effort to develop a nationwide network of Innovation Complexes for India's youth to incubate, network and develop new ideas for new inclusive growth products.

From January 2011 to November 2013, Mitra was a board member at Claritics inc, which was sold in Nov 2013 to Systems In Motion. Claritics provides a user analytics technology platform that ties seamlessly mobile and social network users information into single view & actions that enables companies to quickly create new analytics applications & customizations (in less than 1 day in certain cases) to improve customer engagement, retention and revenue opportunities.

Samir Mitra has a MBA from Santa Clara University Leavey School of Business, an MSEE from University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, and a BSEE from The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda.
