Shak L.

Shak L. has a diverse work experience. In 2013, they worked as a Research Assistant at the University of Toronto, where they contributed to the development of TRACER, an in vitro tumour model. They played a significant role in designing and prototyping a custom-built gelatin dispensing "pen" for better replication of accurate in vivo tumour microenvironments. In 2017, Shak joined H2nanO as a Process Engineering, and later that year, they also worked at Bayer as part of the Grants4Apps Cohort. At Bayer, they received grant funding and mentorship to accelerate their startup. In 2018, Shak became a Thiel Fellow at The Thiel Foundation, where they received a $100,000 grant and support to build new things. They also served as the CEO and Co-Founder of Avro Life Science, starting in 2018.
