James Rigsby

James Rigsby is an experienced aerospace engineer currently serving as a Staff Engineer in Flight Controls at AVX Aircraft Company since May 2023. Previously, Rigsby held multiple roles at Bell Flight from March 2017 to May 2023, including IPT Manager for the Control Laws of the Bell 360 Program and Principal Engineer as the Control Law Lead for a military helicopter development program. Rigsby’s early career includes a position at Sikorsky as a Senior Engineer focusing on rotorcraft handling qualities and control law development from October 2008 to February 2017, as well as research roles at Georgia Institute of Technology and the University of Tennessee Space Institute. Rigsby earned a Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology, a Master of Science in Aviation Systems from the University of Tennessee Space Institute, and a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
